Here are the lyrics and chords to this week’s tune:
What it Really is
We’re all hunting for an animal we don’t know.
When we bag the game and we catch it,
we’ll know what it really is.
What it really is.
I have colleague who can answer any question.
We communicate through equations.
I just need to frame the question to get him to reply.
He’ll know what it really is.
What it really is.
After years of searching in the dark
and living in confusion,
there will come a time
when I’ll know what it really is.
What it really is.
And great waves of color will crash before my eyes.
Brilliant, vague, and beautiful.
Beautiful.
There’s a voice inside my head,
a spiritual technology
that keeps me going,
keeps me going.
It keeps me going -
as frail, flawed and fallible as I am.

Here are the lyrics and chords to this week’s tune:
Letters From Home
Your mother would like you to visit.
She hasn’t seen you in a while.
When are you coming down?
She isn’t angry. You know she tells us that you’re trying.
You are not alone. You know she’s here for you.
You are not alone. She’s just a call away.
You are not alone. You know she thinks of you.
She just wants to know that you’re alright.
She can hear you through your keyboard.
She can hear you in the choice of your words.
She knows you’re in the middle of a grueling renovation
And, if you need her, she’ll be there when the dust settles.
You are not alone. You know she’s here for you.
You are not alone. She is a call away.
You are not alone. You know she thinks of you.
She just wants to know you’re hanging in there.
And she can help you clean in the corners,
in the cracks and the crannies.
Don’t be afraid; it’s a natural reaction
to panic when you’re standing in fire.
You are not alone. You know she’s here for you.
You are not alone. She’s just a call away.
You are not alone. You know she thinks of you.
She just wants to know that you’re alright.
It’s okay to cry.
We’re proud of you. We love you so very much

A few days ago, I had a chat with Patrick from one of our favorite music blogs, the Muse in Music. I’m not just saying that because they’ve been a big supporter of our previous work and new #songaweek project. But that definitely doesn’t hurt.
Were you aware that a’tris settles most of its creative differences through knife fights? Would you like to know what Justin Timberlake and I have in common? Read my interview with tMiM to find out.
Be sure to check back in on tMiM in a few weeks if you like free stuff. Their March giveaway is going to include some pretty sweet a’tris merch.
Special thanks to director James Mooney, editor Andrew Pitkin from Bouncing Ball Films & the lovely and talented Courtney Zito for making this week’s video possible!

Here are the lyrics and chords to this week’s tune:
Spit You Out
You should leave. it’s not wise to be here.
I wouldn’t blame you if you walked out.
Close up. It’s your time.
Everyone’s waiting. Everyone’s watching you.
I tried to warn you; they say they just want a taste.
But they’ll eat you up. Every last drop. Every last drop.
Every last drop before they spit you out.
This is your last chance before the sharks approach you.
I wouldn’t blame you if you ran.
You should leave. It’s not wise to be here.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Stand up. It’s your time.
Everyone’s watching you. Everyone’s fantasizing.
I tried to warn you; they say they just want a bite.
But they’ll eat you up. Every little bit. Every little bit.
Every little bit before they spit you out.
This place is a prison.
If you think you’re in control, you’re not.
Not even close.
You should leave. It’s not wise to be here.
You don’t have to do this.
Stand up. It’s your time.
Everyone’s waiting,
Everyone’s fantasizing.
I tried to warn you; they say that’s it’s just a test.
But they’ll fuck you up. Every single inch. Every single inch.
Every single inch before they spit you out.
This place is a garden
and every rose will prick you.
Before your savior arrives.

HomeGrown TV, a regional TV Show in the NY area, will be featuring a’tris’ music videos. HomeGrown reaches 700,000 viewers every Sat. at 10PM. They’ve been on the air for three years now on Cablevision Network (channel 115) and their format is a lot like MTV (when MTV actually played music).
Thanks to DJ Raine and our friends at HomeGrown, you can now check us out on their featured artist page. When you have a moment, we’d highly recommend giving some of the other artists’ videos an ear too. We have great company there.
To thank HomeGrown, we put this little video together:
HomeGrown TV’s support means a lot to this musician. Especially because it’s his birthday today
This week’s video for “Before and After” was conceived and edited by our frequent collaborator, Andrew Pitkin from Bouncing Ball Films and features footage from Fleischer Studios‘ Superman cartoons.

Here are the lyrics and chords to this week’s tune:
Before and After
I can hear voices moaning something in the room next door.
The walls are shaking; but I’m confident that no one’s home.
It could be worse. I could be on the way to Kennedy.
On a whim, I bought a ticket to Vienna once.
But I’ve taken my gas mask off and started eating scrambled eggs and toast for dinner.
I am more consistent now.
I am more reliable.
You’d be surprised by how far I’ve come.
Ask my friends, they’ll swear I was a different person.
I was in a spot and I wanted to be somewhere else.
Somehow I changed on a trip from Zurich to the Bahamas and back.
I used to keep my money in a freezer and dole it out to strangers who were passing by.
But I am before and after now.
I am more reliable.
I am more consistent now.
I am more reliable.
I am more reliable. You can’t shock me anymore.
‘Cause I am before and after now.
I am more reliable.
I am more consistent now.
I am more reliable.
I am before an after now.
I am more reliable.

Another week, another demo. This one was inspired by a man on a NYC subway who was having auditory and visual hallucinations. Some of the below words were uttered by him. Some weren’t.

“As a Monster” is the song I was referencing. The credit really goes to Mike and Nate for this one. Mike stumbled across the news article I shared and his first effort to songify it with Nate was spot on. Schmoyoho would be proud.
