A couple of weeks ago, I posted some still images from our Dark Lotus collaborator‘s latest music video in my entry, The Art of Reza Dolatabadi. Today I’m pleased to share the video with you in all of its glory after the jump!
In Reza’s short film, Khoda, every single frame was a painting. While Burn and Rise is a live-action film, I think that you’ll agree after watching it that every frame is no less a work of art. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
For more information on Reza Dolatabadi, and the artist, Panic Girl, please visit RezaArt.com and panic-girl.com.
Hope this finds you feeling healthy!

I agree
Thanks for your comment Amie! It’s always awesome to see you here.

At some points in the song it kinda reminds me of the band Abney Park, oddly enough. I think it’s the combination of the instruments and sort of subdued vocals.

Thanks for the tip! I just checked out Abney Park and they’re doing some really cool stuff. How did you hear about them?

By being a giant nerd, basically. Haha. See, I was looking at character portraits on the Dungeons and Dragons website, and one of the categories was ‘steampunk’. I got curious as to what exactly that was, so I looked it up, and that led me to reading about the musical element of the culture, and apparently Abney Park are one of the best known bands in the genre.
So yeah. Dungeons and Dragons. Haha.

That’s awesome! I never played D&D but I was pretty badass at Magic the Gathering when I was in high school
That’s really cool that you found Abney Park by looking into steampunk culture. I’ll definitely have to check that out myself.
But first I need to watch Rushmore

Well I haven’t quite figured out how to play D&D yet, I think I need a manual. Everytime I try to fill out a character sheet my mind draws a blank. There’s alot of information which I’m not sure about, haha. That’s why I was on the site in the first place, looking for further instructions… I just get distracted easily at times
And yes, you do need to watch Rushmore. Cause it’s awesome.

You should reach out to Rob from ilyAIMY. I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about what he’s doing yet. I need to remedy that soon. Rob’s a fantastic artist. I understand that he’s also pretty badass at D&D too. I hope he won’t mind my blowing his cover
Cool. I’m on it!

Oddly enough that band name sounds familiar, can’t think of where I’ve heard it before though. Strange. I’m thinking that they were in Alternative Press under band recommendations, but I’d have to check.

Wouldn’t surprise me. They are awesome!
